Support group for family members of people
with mental health problems

This group is aimed at relatives and caregivers who accompany a loved one with a mental disorder and who need a safe space to share doubts, concerns, and experiences.

The objective of the group focuses on offering emotional support, guidance, and practical tools to face the accompaniment process.

Often, family members of people with a mental disorder carry a heavy emotional and logistical burden and may feel overwhelmed or isolated.

This group seeks to alleviate that burden through professional support and the strength of peer support. Listening to other people who are experiencing similar situations can be a valuable source of understanding and relief.

During the sessions, aspects such as communication within the family, crisis management, healthy boundaries, understanding the disorder, and the importance of self-care for those who provide support will be addressed.

The group will run with two-hour sessions every two weeks and will be led and accompanied by two professionals from our therapeutic team. All of this will be approached from a respectful, close, and tailored framework for each family’s reality.

To promote the group process, trust, and safety among participants, we will work with a system of members/beneficiaries, who will reserve their place on a stable basis until objectives are met and will make a monthly contribution of €20 to commit to the process and support the Foundation’s programs. It is an open space that requires no prior knowledge or previous participation in therapeutic processes. The group is intended as an opportunity to strengthen support networks, share strategies, and promote healthier coexistence for caregivers and their families.
